Matt Castle is grateful to be doing his dream job. He works primarily as a musical composer, arranger, and orchestrator, usually in collaboration with his husband, Frank Galgano. For Disney Cruise Line they wrote original songs (with lyricist Sara Wordsworth) for Duffy and the Friend Ship and created arrangements and/or orchestrations for The Little Mermaid, Remember, and audience favorites Beauty and the Beast and “Seas” the Adventure. Other standout orchestration credits include Madame Clicquot (Pittsburgh CLO), Sweet Charity (Gulfshore), Scotland, PA (Roundabout), and Once Upon a Mattress (Transport Group). Matt’s original songs and concert music have been performed around the US and Europe. Matt has extensive experience as a musical director, having developed more than 100 new musicals at Sundance, NYU, Playwrights Horizons, TheaterworksUSA, Disney Cruise Line, Musical Theatre Factory, Page 73, Weston Playhouse, Pittsburgh CLO, George Street, Philadelphia Theatre Company, the O'Neill, Signature (NYC), Signature (DC), Goodspeed, York Theatre, Barrington, NAMT, NYMF, CAP21, and more. Highlights include The Last Five Years (ACT - winner, BART Award for Best Musical Direction), Into the Woods (Fiasco), Indian Joe (Goodspeed), and Found (Atlantic, Philadelphia, Los Angeles).

As an actor-musician, Matt made his Broadway debut playing Peter in the 2006 revival of Company. He also appeared in the original off-Broadway casts of The Musical of Musicals (as both Jitter and Willy), Enter Laughing (as Harry Hamburger), and Lingoland (as himself). He is currently developing material for a solo album to be released next year on Brainstorm Records.
